Purgatory /Prayers for the dead

Purgatory
Many protestants have a misconception of purgatory . They believe that since Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins , that we are in the clear . This is not the case . Protestants believe that the Catholic church made these lies up about purgatory, to scare everyone . Many protestants refuse to even look at some of the verses that imply that there is a purgatory . The book of Revelations says in chapter 21 ,verse 27 , that nothing unclean shall enter heaven . 1John 1:6-10 confirms that we are all sinners . When we sin , that sin spots the soul . You just looked at Rev 21:27 , telling us that nothing unclean will enter Heaven . Our souls need to be cleansed by God before entry . Now , Paul teaches us in 1Cor 3:15 that we sinners will be saved, but through the fire.Paul also teaches us in Romans 3:10 , that we are all sinners . Paul teaches us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling in Philippians 2:12 .The Letter To The Hebrews may or may not have been written by Paul .It is in question on whether or not he wrote it ,or one of his co-workers .Hebrews 10:26 tells us that if we sin deliberately , the sacrifice for sins does not remain . I want you all to think about this : In the New testament , Jesus and Apostles of the Bible preach to follow the ten commandments in many books . Now , the commandments were not made to be broken , yet we break them everyday . Jesus would have never preached to follow the commandments if it was not mandatory that we follow them . I don't think that anyone here honestly thinks that it is ok to break these commandments . However, many of us believe that it is ok to sin because Jesus payed the debt . If we break the commandments , we need to confess them to God . However by sinning we still spotted the soul , and in purgatory (which is more like a process of God's cleansing of our souls) God will complete our souls perfection .

Prayers for the dead
To support and prove the Catholic belief on prayers for the dead , I will cite 3 verses .There will be 2 in the New testament and 1 in the old that I will go over : In 2Maccabees 12:38-46 prayers for the dead is evident . listen to what 2Macc 12:46 says: " Thus he made an atonement for the dead that they might be freed from this sin " If I were having a conversation with a Catholic that reads scripture , that is all I would need to talk about . But unfortunately, our protestant brothers and sisters , do not accept 2 Maccabees (I will get into that subject when I talk about the deuterocanonical books of the Bible)However protestants do accept Paul's teachings . Fortunately I was able to find a couple of verses . In 2 Timothy 1:16-18 Paul is praying for his friend and co-worker Onesiphorus . "May the lord grant him to find mercy from the Lord on that day."(2Tim1:18) As you can also see that Paul points out that his friend was a worker for Christ in Ephesus . It was obvious that the man was a Christian . If Paul thought that the man went straight to heaven after dying , then there would not have been a need for him to pray for him . Even though the man was a Christian, Paul was unsure whether or not Onesiphorus went straight to heaven .Paul pointed out that He was a faithful worker for Christ .It seems that Paul is confirming his teaching that we need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (phil2:12 ) It seems that Onesiphorus worked out his salvation . Paul also expresses his hope for the faithful that have died in 1Thessalonians 4:13-14 ," We do not want you to be unaware , brothers , about those who have fallen asleep , so that you may not grieve like the rest , who have no hope ."I will use Paul's teachings in the Bible on most of my blogs . I have come across many protestants ,who quote from Paul's letters. I quote from Paul's letters to show them that Paul's teachings line up with the Catholic church .
The problem with the belief that it is ok to sin , and that all sin is equal , does not make sense, there are protestant preachers that tell their congregations that stealing a stick of gum is equal to abortion. Now, does that make sense to any of you ?I was learning how to be a side walk counselor (people who hand out information on abortion , attempting to convince people that abortion is not the way to go.)I listened to a tape of a females experience at the abortion clinic , as a side walk counselor . She stated that she used to see preachers driving their congregation members to abortion clinics . Some preachers had given them scripture references to try and justify abortion ."Don't worry about this.Your doing the right thing, the debt is payed." Abortion is another subject I will blog about .My point here is that Protestants believe that as long as your a believer no matter what , you will go to Heaven. I would like you all to look at Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who says 'Lord , Lord' will enter the kingdom of heaven , but only the one who does the will of my father in Heaven ." Is it the will of his God to deliberately sin because the debt has been paid ? You get my point ? I hope you all enjoyed my blog . I will be making another one soon. It will be on the deuterocanonical books ,and its connections to the New testament . I will go over the history of them . I will tell you the real reasons why the Jews in 90 AD rejected them . I will also tell you why the protestants say they do not accept them ,and why they really don't accept them .

May God Bless all of you , Frankie
